Jason founded Thriveal in 2010 as a way to help small CPA firm owners connect. Since that time, Thriveal has helped many small firms grow by providing a community, coaching services, webinars, and live events. The newest offerings include a Lab for experimentation and an Academy for continuing education for CPAs. An Incubator for new firms is in the works. Deeper Weekend is the annual live event by Thriveal.
Jason is also the Chief Innovative Officer of his firm, Blumer & Associates, CPAs. The firm was one of the first to move from a traditional office to a virtual environment, where they serve creatives only. Jason leads a team that works in a Results Only Work Environment. He focuses heavily on business coaching, while his team meets the technical and compliance needs of the customer.
Jason is the co-host of two podcasts, the Thrivecast and The Businessology Show and speaks and writes frequently for CPAs and creatives, his firm’s chosen niche. He has been honored as one of the 40 under 40 in the profession (CPA Practice Advisor) as well as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting (Accounting Today). Recently, Jason was featured in the Challenger’s Almanac along with Seth Godin, Simon Sinek, and other leaders. Jason loves to watch documentaries on just about anything and is working on his personal bests in Crossfit several times a week. He lives in Greenville, SC with his wife and their three daughters. Everywhere, all the time. Like any good dreamer, it’s hard to get this guy to sit still. Dave Onkels co-leads Dotvita, an interface design studio that mixes entrepreneurial thinking and a passion for beautiful, people-focused design.
With a diverse background that started in retail strategy and interactive store environments, Dave has worked with many brands including Bose, Sprint, AT&T, Sears, Costco and Best Buy. He founded the online startup Magnt.com, one of the first personal landing page generators and serves as editor for Appvita, a curated blog for finding emerging web apps.
Dave has a deeply-rooted desire to help small businesses fight the odds and grow–and he’s not afraid to take risks along the way. He works side-by-side with his wife and they have two lovely girls plus a plethora of pets. In his spare time, Dave likes to fly airplanes.
Chris is a self proclaimed branding nerd. Together with Dave he runs Dotvita – helping a wide variety of businesses find their unique voice. Born and raised in Germany, Chris studied at the Media Design Akademie in Duesseldorf and continued in Berlin at the Media Design Hochschule where he graduated as Diplom-Designer (FH).
After college, he moved to the United States to join Oslund Design where he jumped into the world of brand identity and learned all the tricks of the trade. He later relocated to Kansas City to lead the creative team at Winntech, a full-service design firm. Chris served as a lead ideation member in projects for British Petroleum, H&R Block, Century Tel, Saudi Telecom, Coca Cola Canada, Al Fozan Group Saudi Arabia and AT&T.
Today, Chris consults with businesses owners to craft their story and position them for future growth. He would describe himself more of a designer than a strategist, but this is an ongoing debate. In his spare time, Chris enjoys craft beer and riding his bike around White Rock Lake.
