One of the fun parts of being the Community Manager of THRIVEal is getting to plan our annual Learning Gathering. I really enjoy this because I feel like I am planning a family reunion; the kind where you actually like your extended family and you want to spend time with them. This year we are calling our gather Deeper Weekend.

Deeper Weekenders will arrive on Tuesday and check into Hampton Inn Riverplace. That evening, we’ll all be going together to Falls Park in downtown Greenville for some team building activities and barbecue. Start praying for sunshine right this minute.

On Wednesday, Jason Blumer will be guiding us through designing the ideal customer experience using Design Thinking concepts. We’re going to interact with some business owners from our area and get their input on what an ideal experience would be like for them. And we’re going to be doing this at a really cool venue called The Channel. This day will be very hands on and interactive. It is designed to help you enrich your customer experience. In the evening, we’ll experience southern hospitality at The Upstate History museum where we’ll enjoy a low country boil and a showing of The Call of The Entrepreneur, along with a group discussion on profits and altruism.

Thursday is ROWE day! We are so excited that Jody Thompson of Culture RX and author of Why Work Sucks and How to Fix It will be leading us. Jason and Greg will be interviewing Jody that evening in a live recording of the THRIVEcast with audience participation. The THRIVEcast will be recorded at THRIVEal’s second birthday bash to be held at Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria. Better catch up on the episodes you’ve missed because there will be trivia and prizes! Of course there will also be food, beer, darts, and pool.

With all of these activities on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, why are will calling the event Deeper Weekend? Because it was originally scheduled for a weekend! We liked the name so we kept it. Thanks to my daughter, Rachel, for the creative graphic showing that we are no longer having Deeper Weekend on the weekend.

We’d love for you to join us! All of the teaching can be applied to any business, so even you non-CPAs are welcome. Vendors, that includes you. We don’t have the traditional vendor hall, but we’d love for you to participate in the teaching. We’re excited to have Steve Novak from XCM Solutions and Kasey Bayne from Freshbooks joining us as well as the partnership of Right Networks.

Interested in joining us? Leave a comment to let me know you need more info or sign up on our tumblr page and I’ll get in touch with you right away. Don’t miss this life-changing experience!

    Hi Jennifer,
I’d love to participate in this. Is it possible to attend just part of the event? I’m really interested in Wednesday and Thursday, with Thursday being the most important to me.

Let me know via email ([email protected]) or Twitter (@BM_Livingston or @RoyalAppleMktg).

    Thanks much!
